Snowbird Prep: Get Your RV and Golf Cart Ready for Florida

RV & Golf Cart · November 5, 2025 · 7 min read

Snowbird season has a rhythm. You point the rig south, settle into the Florida sunshine, and then notice the RV dinette has gone flat and the golf cart seats look like they spent the summer in a kiln (because they did). The smart move is to handle upholstery early in your stay, so everything is fresh for the months you actually want to enjoy it. Here is a simple snowbird prep checklist.

We do a lot of seasonal RV and golf cart upholstery, so we know the timeline well.

Handle it early in the season and enjoy a fresh interior all winter

The RV interior

Your home-on-wheels takes a beating on the drive and bakes in storage. First stops:

  • The dinette. The most-used seat, and the first to go flat. Fresh foam makes it feel new, as we cover in RV dinette cushion replacement.
  • Captain's chairs. Sun through the windshield fades and cracks them faster than anything else up front.
  • Sofa, bunks and the small stuff. Throw in new bunk cushions or a recovered jackknife sofa for a whole-coach refresh, the full approach in refreshing your RV interior.

The golf cart

In a Florida community the cart is your daily ride, and Florida sun is brutal on cart seats. If yours cracked or faded over the summer, this is the time. You can keep it simple or go custom, with ideas in custom golf cart seats, and the durability side in golf cart seats that survive Florida.

The whole point of snowbird season is enjoying it. Knock out the upholstery early and the rest of winter is yours.

Why timing matters

Two reasons to book early. First, you get to enjoy the fresh interior all season instead of waiting. Second, shops get busy as winter ramps up, so an early booking means a relaxed timeline. Just tell us when you plan to head back north and we will work to finish well before then. The RV Industry Association has good general guidance on keeping a coach in shape, too.

A quick snowbird checklist

  • Inspect the dinette, captain's chairs and sofa for flat foam and fading.
  • Check golf cart seats for cracks and sun damage.
  • Look at lanai and patio cushions if your place has them.
  • Book early, and share your travel dates so we can plan around them.

Frequently asked

When should snowbirds book upholstery work?

Early in the season, ideally right after you arrive, before the busy winter stretch. That way your RV or cart is done and ready for the good months instead of waiting in a queue.

Can you finish my RV or golf cart before I head back north?

Usually yes. Tell us your travel timeline up front and we plan around it. We work with seasonal residents every year and aim to finish well before you leave.

What upholstery do snowbirds get done most?

RV dinettes and captain's chairs, golf cart seats, and patio or lanai cushions. Anything that sat unused and faded, or that wore out on the drive down.

Just arrived for the season? Send us a few photos and your timeline and we will get your RV and cart fresh before the good months really kick in.
